Dawlish Celebrates Carnival Royal Family and Float

What a journey it has been!! We were lucky to buy a float second hand over Christmas and upon getting it back, it was stripped right back to the metal, where we realised it needed a little more work then first thought but thanks to Dave of Baileys Plant and Groudworks, work started and the rotten metal was replaced. Bradfords Building Supplies of Dawlish have been kind enough to donate the materials needed which will allow us to begin decorating the float in the theme for this year and be ready for the Carnival season.

A selection evening was held at the beginning of March, where we first met our lovely Royal Family, who were crowned by the Mayor, Martin Wrigley on Bank Holiday Sunday wearing their finery. The girls and their families have been very supportive and are looking forward to their season on the float at the various carnivals we will be attending.

All that is left to do now is to find teams to go out each week. If you think you may be interested in this please get in contact with Sophie at float@dawlishcelebratescarnival.co.uk or on 07584498085.
