Firstly, we’re pressing on to make Dawlish Celebrates Carnival 2022 happen. It will be held between 13th and 19th August so book that in your diaries, please!
We’re welcoming old favourites back during the week like the pram race, It’s a knockout, the duck race, the baby show, local music acts plus some new additions like a mountain bike show.
The past two years have not been easy and we’d decided in 2022 we do want to have a parade – but there’s a few challenges as things aren’t back to normal.
Firstly, there just aren’t the number of floats available in the area to have the kind of procession we’ve seen in the past. So we’d like to put on a community walking parade, a community celebration with walkers from all different groups like the majorettes, guides, scouts, twirlers and so on taking part. If you know anyone who’d be interested in joining in, please let us know. Let’s see what Dawlish can do for Dawlish!!
Of course, we’d like to have a headline act and our choice would be a group like Rampage Mas to be in the parade in their spectacular way but they are going to cost £4000 which, simply put, is money we haven’t got at the moment.
We’ve started a crowdfunding page and people have already started to donate any donation no matter how small is welcome.
