Design A Carnival Week Ice Cream Special

Become Dawlish’s First Ever Junior Town Crier!

Do you know a loud, proud, and confident youngster ready to shout from the rooftops?

Dawlish Celebrates Carnival, in partnership with Dawlish Town Council and our very own Town Crier Bob Graham, is on the hunt for Dawlish’s first ever Junior Town Crier! It’s completely free to enter, and it’s a brilliant chance for 8–12 year olds to make history, win prizes, and have a moment in the carnival spotlight.

To enter, you must:

  • Be 8 to 12 years old

  • Live in the Parish of Dawlish

  • Be available Sunday 10th August, 12:30–1:30pm for the live competition

  • Be accompanied by a parent, carer or guardian

  • Write a “cry” (maximum 100 words) on the theme: “Why I want to be a Town Crier”

Whether it’s about loving Dawlish, enjoying dressing up, or having a voice that carries to Teignmouth — we want to hear their cry!

There’ll be certificates, rosettes, and even a spot in the big Carnival Parade for the winners!

Entries close Friday 27th June.

Entry forms are available from local schools, Dawlish Library, the Manor House, or right here on our website.
